Background:
Peartree Spring Junior and Infant Schools were opened in April 1955, but the first children were taught in Heathcote Secondary School, as the Peartree Spring buildings were not ready for occupation. The school's building has twelve classrooms organised in groups of three, with a shared resource area for each year group. All schools providing for Key Stage 2 teach five core subjects included English, mathematics, science, information and communication technology, religious education and six foundation subjects included design and technology, history, geography, art and design, music, physical education. The school has close links with the infant, nursery and secondary schools, parent teacher association which raises funds and provides social activities. The school aims to provide a secure, friendly environment where effective learning and teaching can thrive within a clear framework of expectations about behaviour, attainment and effort.
