Background:

Presdales School founded as Ware Grammar School for Girls in 1906 on the Amwell House site and the school moved to its current site in 1964. It became a comprehensive school in 1975 and accepts girls from a wide area of Hertfordshire and neighbouring counties. The school building comprises a mansion, which accommodates the sixth form centre and the library. The school provides music suite, drama studio, eight science laboratories, eight language rooms, five technology rooms, two art rooms, assembly hall, dining rooms and gymnasium. The school teaches French, German, Spanish, Russian, Italian and Japanese to A level and Latin is available to GCSE in the sixth form. It has a wide range of extra-curricular activities including music, sports and drama. The school aims to support high achievement across the curriculum and in extra-curricular activities. The school aims to promote good relations with the wider community and especially with parents whose support is invaluable to the educational process.
