Background:
Rickmanansworth School was opened in 1954 and became a Foundation School in 1999. In 2003, the school was designated as a specialist arts college. The school'stands in 26 acres of attractive Woodland situated in a greenbelt residential area, which is well served by road and rail. Recent addition to the school's facilities includes a new classroom block. Music technology and sound recording studios, dance studio and performance space. Rugby is strong at the school and boys and girls compete in Union and League competitions. The U18 girl's team were national champions (7-a-side) in 2003, runners up a 2004 and winners in 2005. Boys reached the U16 national league semi-final in 2003. The school aims to develop respect for the uniqueness of each individual and a commitment to realise potential through care, challenge, ambition and support.
