Background:

Round Diamond Primary is a bigger than average sized school. It is situated in the Stevenage area of Hertfordshire. The school is extremely well resourced and has clear, effective systems in place to support teaching and learning. The nursery is an important part of Round Diamond School; being the first introduction to school life for most of the children. The school has a suite of 17 computers in the school. A number of beneficial links have been forged between the school and local community and businesses. The all-weather pitch has been a continued source of revenue and contact with a large number of local sports clubs, which use the facilities on a regular basis. The local churches have hosted a number of events in the school including a carol concert and spring bazaar. The school won a Best Practice ICT Award from the LEA for its excellent work in using ICT in the teaching of music and received another digital video recorder as a prize. The school has Investors in People status which demonstrates its commitment to whole school, team and individual development. The school aims to provide a caring environment where it fosters a love for learning and try to get better each day. It also aims to develop an awareness, understanding and respect for others with differing beliefs, languages, cultures, abilities and gender.
