Background:
Founded in 1957, the school aims at 'the full development of all children, with a view to them taking their places as responsible members of the community in which they live'. Forres County Primary has a 'large' playing field, a wildlife area, two playgrounds, an activity trail and a sports wall. The 'many' extra-curricular clubs include football, netball, basketball, maths, guitar, recorder and percussion. Information technology is used to 'support and develop' areas of the curriculum. Forres County have 'many' computers and a 'wide variety' of software. There are many musical insturments including xylophones, chime bars, recorders, guitars and an electronic organ. 'Strong' links exist to the local church and elderly people in the community and to other secondary schools including Haileybury. Local charity fund-raising is carried out by pupils and they also support a child from Africa through World Vision. At Christmas, concerts and dramas are held.
