Background:
Hexton Junior Mixed and Infant School is set in the village of Hexton, which is six miles from Hitchin and close to the Hertfordshire/Bedfordshire border. This is a mixed ability community school within Hertfordshire County Council Education Authority, which provides education for children from the village of Hexton and the surrounding villages. Each class has at least two computers to which each child has access. Children have access to a wide range of clubs at lunchtime and after-school. These include football, netball, basketball, rugby, hockey, music, recorders, guitar, French and gardening. A variety of visits are also organised by school to enhance the school curriculum. The school has a thriving parents association, which works to raise money for school and to provide social occasions for parents. The school aims to encourage the development of each child in a secure, happy and purposeful atmosphere.
