Background:
This is the only junior school in the village of Redbourne, four miles north of St Albans. The present building opened in 1959 and offers eight classrooms in two blocks and a mobile classroom used for IT and music tuition. An after-school club is held between 3.20pm and 5.45pm from Monday to Thursday, offering numerous activities including football, netball, rugby, chess, science, French, rounders, athletics, cricket and ballet. Instrumental tuition is available in flute, clarinet and trumpet, and pupils can also play recorder at lunchtime.
