Background:

Roysia Middle School is a small school educating pupils between the ages of nine and 13. The school is situated to the north of Royston overlooking the Hertfordshire and Cambridgeshire border. The school is proud of its calm, quiet working environment, which provides its pupils with light, airy classrooms and well appointed specialist facilities. These include two well-equipped science laboratories, a recently refitted ICT suite, a fine music/drama studio with individual practice rooms, a technology workshop, a food technology room and a gymnasium. There is also a spacious library and a resource centre. The outdoor facilities include generous playing fields, a hard play area, a fenced pond and an environmental area. In addition to curriculum subjects taught, there are several clubs such as art, information technology, homework and football. Various visits to theatres, concerts, museums, exhibitions and places of historical and geographical interest are arranged during the year. The school also supports several charities. The school aims to provide a happy and secure environment in which all pupils are eager to learn and develop their abilities and are able to make sound moral judgements.
