Background:

Fearnhill is an 11 to 18 comprehensive on the outskirts of Letchworth Garden City and is a designated mathematics and computing college. The facilities have been updated with the addition of a new mathematics and computing centre, as well as new science and technology facilities. The school has a four faculty areas for English, humanities, languages and vocational education, a new specialist centre housing the mathematics and information and communication technology faculties which is situated at the rear of the present school buildings. The science faculty has nine full size teaching laboratories and two smaller upper school laboratories. The learning resource centre includes the school library, careers library, information and communication technology facilities and a computer room. A sports centre with a sports hall, gymnasium and fitness centre and changing rooms together with extensive playing fields and newly refurbished tennis courts. The school aims to develop student's confidence, self-esteem and sense of individual purpose by ensuring that they learn in a happy and supportive environment.
