Background:
Hartsfield Junior Mixed and Infant School was opened in 1983, which is on northern side of Baldock, this is an over-subscribed school carefully extended to accommodate rising school roll and has minimum two-form entry. Most recent phase of building was completed in 1999 and the school now has 14 semi-open-plan teaching areas, administration and dining areas, kitchen, two halls, changing rooms, shower room, kiln, central library, and additional resource and study areas. Learning resources extended by growth of wildlife/conservation area within school grounds and further enhanced by richly historical site on which school is built. It has three archaeological digs since 1983. The school is also attached to The Great Group after-school club at the local community centre. Every child matters.
