Background:
Previously housed in a Victorian building, the school moved to its present open-plan building in 1975. It is set in a quiet, pleasant and picturesque village and makes 'good use of the local environment'. Its extensive grounds offer a playing/sports field and wildlife area. Facilities at the over-subscribed school include a 'well-resourced' library and purpose-built nursery unit. In addition to sport (hockey, netball, football, rounder, athletics, gymnastics, cricket, rugby and tennis), extra-curricular clubs include art, recorders, pottery, dance, board games and French. School teams have been 'very successful' locally, particularly in netball, athletics and gymnastics. Children regularly raise funds for charity and there is a 'strong and active' parent-teacher association.
