Background:

St Paul's is a Church of England voluntary aided junior, infant and nursery school. In common with all Church of England schools, St Paul's is part of the maintained system of education and is operated in partnership with the local education authority. The school is located in the beautiful village of Chipperfield in Hertfordshire, not far from the Church and the village green. This unique, circular school was built in 1973. Since then, various building programmes have seen the school grow considerably. The school now has a state of the art computer suite housing 31 workstations and an interactive white board. In addition, new wooden outdoor play equipment was installed in the playground area. The nursery is located within the school and has its own fenced playground. The nursery and reception classes were relocated in August 2002. The school provides opportunities to children to learn recorder, flute, clarinet, violin, piano and guitar. It also offers a wide range of extra-curricular activities in which children might develop an interest and talent. Children are often taken on visits to extend their class work. The school has many links with individuals and groups in the local community. The school aims to provide a caring and supportive environment as well as an atmosphere in which children are challenged and stimulated.
