Background:
Broadfield Junior School is a maintained school for children aged seven to 11 years. It serves the Adeyfield neighbourhood of Hemel Hempstead and receives most of its intake form the infant school, situated on the same site. The school was opened in 1955 and occupies a large, pleasant site in a residential area. The school provides superb accommodation facilities with eight rooms, each with its own cloakroom and craft work area, a large assembly hall, gymnasium and a dining room with kitchens. A wide range of extra-curricular activities are offered at lunchtime and after-school. These activities include netball, French, athletics, tennis, rounders, judo, quest, scrabble, football and choir. The school enables and encourages everyone to develop socially, academically and emotionally in an atmosphere that is caring and promotes all round respect.
