Background:
The Knights Templar School is a mixed 11-18 school catering for children of all abilities from the area around Baldock. The school has excellent IT facilities. There are five dedicated networked teaching rooms with 23 computers in each and further specialist rooms, which are used for control and music technology. There are also a number of computers in the library. The main aim of the library is to enable pupils to develop lively, imaginative and enquiring minds by providing a central point within the school for study and recreational reading where well-organised and relevant information is available whenever it is needed. School teams representing each year usually exist for netball, hockey, rounders, tennis, rugby, soccer, basketball, cricket, athletics, badminton and cross-country running, most of which are also played at inter-house level. There are also numerous clubs, which generally meet during the lunch hour. The school aims to create a healthy, caring and stimulating atmosphere in which all pupils have maximum opportunity to develop to the fullest of their potential academically, culturally, socially and spiritually.
