Background:
Homerswood is an eight class Primary and Nursery School, opened in April 1963 with children of infant and junior age together with a new purpose-built nursery. The buildings are set in a pleasant residential area on the northern outskirts of Welwyn Garden City. There is an assembly hall, dining room/library, special educational needs room, an information and communication technology suite, two playgrounds and a playing field. The school curriculum covers the following English, mathematics, science, information and communication technology, design and technology, personal, social and health education, geography, music, art and design, physical education, history. The school aims to help every child to fulfil their potential, academically, socially and culturally.
