Background:
Wilbury Junior School opened in 1949 as one of the first post war schools built in Hertfordshire and is located on a pleasant site near the centre of Letchworth. The school grounds are landscaped with many mature trees and provide a rich resource for outdoor sport and environmental studies. The school's accommodation comprises a hall, dining room, kitchen, 12 classrooms, an ICT suite and a library in the entrance hall. Extra-curricular clubs are organised by teachers and parents who are willing to give their own time. Clubs run during the lunchtime and after-school might include: football, recorder, netball, cricket, dance, athletics, guitar, rounders and badminton. The school aims to provide an interesting, friendly, caring, healthy and safe environment in which children will enjoy learning and reach their full potential.
